Physiotherapist assessing a patient's movement at Physio and Performance

What happens at your first physio appointment?

The assessment covers a detailed history and a thorough examination of movement, strength and the affected area. We explain what we find and agree a working diagnosis and plan you understand before you leave.

You go home with a written summary and a home-exercise programme built around your diagnosis and goals, so progress continues between visits.

Home Visits can help to:

Get seen without travelling to a clinic

When getting to us is impractical, we bring expert physiotherapy to your home, so recovery does not have to wait on a difficult journey.

Recover at home after surgery

Domiciliary visits suit post-operative recovery and reduced mobility, so your rehabilitation continues in the place you are healing.

Keep progressing by video

Online sessions work well for assessment, advice, exercise progression and follow-ups, so your plan keeps moving between hands-on visits.

Know which setting is right for you

We screen honestly at booking, so you are directed to in-person care when a problem needs hands-on assessment or urgent review.

Move between home, online and clinic

Your care carries across our three London clinics, so you can switch settings as your recovery and schedule change.

How physiotherapy works
from assessment to return to sport

Everything starts with finding the cause. Whether the goal is a marathon start line or a week at your desk without pain, we treat what is driving the problem, then build the strength that keeps it fixed.

Physiotherapy assessment at Physio and Performance

Assessment

A detailed history, then a thorough examination of movement, strength and the affected area. You leave knowing what is wrong, why it happened, and exactly what we are going to do about it.

Hands-on physiotherapy treatment at Physio and Performance

Treatment

Hands-on manual therapy combined with a progressive, tailored exercise programme. Sports massage, dry needling, shockwave or Reformer Pilates are added where they help your specific problem.

Coached strength training at Physio and Performance

Rebuild

Coached, progressive strength work restores the load tolerance your body lost, paced to where you start. This is the stage that decides whether the fix lasts.

VALD force-plate testing at Physio and Performance

Perform

Each follow-up reassesses you against your baseline, with VALD testing where useful, so your return to work, sport or training rests on measured readiness. Discharge happens by mutual agreement when you can manage independently.

Move better. Train stronger. Live fully. Pain relief that lasts is not enough on its own: we find the cause, then rebuild the strength behind the pain so it stays gone. No guesswork, no generic rehab.

FAQs

Who are home visits suitable for?

Home visits suit people for whom reaching a clinic is difficult: those recovering after surgery, living with reduced mobility, managing caring responsibilities, or older adults who prefer to be seen at home. We bring expert assessment and treatment to you across London, and at booking we check that your problem is appropriate for home-based care.

How effective is online physiotherapy?

For many conditions, online physiotherapy is highly effective. Much of physiotherapy is accurate assessment, tailored exercise, education and self-management, all of which translate well to a structured video session. It is ideal for advice, exercise progression and follow-ups. Some problems do need hands-on assessment, and we will always tell you when a clinic visit serves you better.

Can I be seen online around a busy work schedule?

Yes. Online sessions are well suited to busy professionals: there is no commute, and you can be assessed, progressed and reviewed from home, the office or while travelling. We will still tell you honestly if your problem needs a hands-on, in-person assessment first, and can arrange that at one of our central London clinics.

When is home or online care not appropriate?

Some problems need an in-person, hands-on assessment to diagnose or treat properly, so remote care is not always right. And certain red-flag or acute presentations need urgent in-person or emergency medical review rather than physiotherapy. We screen for these when you book, so you are always seen in the safest setting for you.

Which areas of London do you cover for home visits?

We offer home visits across London, working out from our three central clinics in Soho, Liverpool Street and Marylebone. Coverage and scheduling depend on your location and the type of session needed, so get in touch with your postcode and we will confirm availability. Online sessions, of course, are available wherever you have a stable connection.

How do I book a home visit or online session?

Get in touch or book a free 15-minute consultation, and tell us your location and what you need help with. We will check the setting is suitable, confirm availability, and arrange your home visit or send a secure video link for an online session. You can also switch between home, online and clinic as you recover.
